    The MG08/15

With the success of the lewis the Imperial Germanicon Army needed an equivalent, and as efficient as ever why not take advantage of existing parts and interchange. Much discussion exists when this wpn actualy hit the front line ie late 1915 or early 1916 but many say it was unpopular, be it weight, stoppages or accuracy (due to the poorly placed bipod).
    Great faces!

This one is fitted with the BFA.

Three bipods used on the MG08/15: 2 standard 'normal' and 'expedient' and the tubular bipod as seen here but often used with the 13 mm Mauser anti tank rifle.

Some of the MG08/15s, 3 of which came from Canadaicon. You will see some battle damage on 2 and a rare instructional/skeleton example. For deactivation purposes the barrel is removed but if plugged the barrel can remain.

    MG08/15 ''feeding''.

The MG08/15 was belt fed by 2 methods. The slide on drum (trommel) which held 100 round belts, although there was/is a much scarcer 50 rd version, or, the most common belt fed method of 250 rds using the same belt as the larger MG08.
Attached some views of the trommel and standard belt fed.
