    First 03-A3

Looking for info. Might this be a Greek return? Scant stock. Most parts "R" marked. Pics show the only stock markings I can see... w/o disassembling

Thanks and hi from the new guy

I would say Greek but I'm not one of the experts.

The stock is Greek, definitely. It doesn't match the serial number of the receiver, so hard to tell about the rest of the rifle, from your pictures. Not the blued "Greek finish" I have seen. Are there four digits etched into the top of the bolt handle?

It does have "9000" etched on the backside of the bolt (facing the shooter). It is etched over a stamping " ? 8 ? 7 ". Can't make it out. Thanks for the help btw!

As soon as I locate some 30-06 I'll find out how well it shoots, lol. Bore is very shiny and appears to have 2-groove rifling. Thanks

Is that good or bad? Guess it's no telling when it may have been replaced, huh?

    Thanks

Makes no difference; it IS a genuine USGI stock. Both Keystone & Springfield Armory (S) made replacement stocks.

Looks like a previous owner spent a lot of time removing the grease from the stock, but the dark stained butt end can't be completed restored. You may or may not have grease ooze when left out in the sun.
