Newbie needs help with friend's bayonet!

After reading some of the comments on this site, I'm concerned about possibly posting a counterfeit. Don't want to do that! I have photos and know the markings. It reads almost identically to the one listed on the boards as a fake - the P1907 Hooked Quillon bayonet with scabbard. How should I proceed?

Throw it out for inspection! Good detailed close-up photos will help much more than overall views. The only feelings that might get hurt are your friend's if he paid way too much.
