What sort of SMLE scope is this?
eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home dr
I've never seen this before. Obviously for Lithgow's, but I haven't really found any good notes for it.
Any takers on this one?

I don't think that you'll find any notes for it, let alone good ones.
The WW2 scope mounts used by the Australian
Army were two piece, and the scopes were "Pattern 18"
I think while this item might fit an SMLE, it is civilian and not military...

Yeah, I noticed it yesterday & nearly posted the same question! The mount looks to be a cheap commercial type & I don't think it is anywhere near substantial enough to stand up to military use. Never heard of the scope but maybe some of you guys in Oz know more about the manufacturers?? And of course many people will describe any optical device which fits onto a firearm as a 'sniper scope' (or similar).
Anybody think substantially differently?

It is a Field mount with its Field scope. The piece that screws onto the receiver that the mount screws to is missing. The adjusters actually move the hairs which means it takes a little time to zero then you dont adjust it till you need to rezero. Moving the elevation on mine moves the windage and moving the windage moves the elevation. Reasonably popular late 50s early 60s. until higher powered and multi powered scopes arrived.
