13-056 Garand Picture of the Day

Edited post to attach pic as indirect image reference wouldn't display correctly, possible because size was too large (over 2000 px) or filename was too long ....

    (Click PIC to Enlarge)

Note: After you click on images to ENLARGE them, you may find they automatically size smaller in your browser's window making them harder to view. The auto sizing is your browser's way of keeping images entirely within the screen size you have set. Move your mouse pointer to the bottom centre of the pic and you will see an options panel appear. There will be a small square box next to the large X, which will have a pointer arrow sticking out of it. If it's illuminated, it means the pic you're viewing can be enlarged, so click on this box and the pic will EXPAND and open to its normal size.

Send me an email with an example of a video link that's not working for you. Some of our videos were stored on PhotoBucket, but they've changed their code so we can't link to them anymore. We're in the process of gradually moving the affected ones to a dedicated video server site, but that will take some time. If there's a specific one you're looking for, I can move it in-place for you ahead of others.

    Regards,
    Doug

He was too busy holding his ears, and thus his lid blew off.

Fair enough trade for a few brief seconds I would think

I suspect he is a resistance fighter. Look close at his left sleeve, his shirt has a plaid pattern, his hair is not GI nor his rifle. That butterfly collar kind of doesn't work either

Not to mention that doesn't look like a US arm that he is holding. Buttplate looks curved and perhaps a folding bayonet? At least it apears that way at 1000%

edited to add, DUH, I see you also mentioned the rifle Bill.
