Richland Arms .44 cal New Army revolver

I have a Richland Arms .44 stainless steel 6-shot blackpowder revolver. I have two questions 1)
I would like to acquire a reserve set of ss nipples but I do not know the thread size etc. since Richland Arms is no longer in business - where can I purchase??? 2 ) I have some old #10 caps that only ignite after second trigger pull - do caps have an expiration date or do I need to get a special brand of cap with more ignition sensitivity ? What could be the problem ?

Any direction and info would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like you need # 11 caps. Those # 10`s aren`t going on far enough & that`s why you need two hits. The first one is seating the cap down further on the nipple & the second hit fires it.

Many (most?) replica blackpowder revolvers were and are made in Italy, regardless of which label they are sold under. Take a very close look at the barrel, especially underneath the loading lever. If you find a "PN" stamp, that stands for Polvere Nera (black powder in Italian), in which case posting any marks you can find will help in identifying the manufacturer and make it easier to obtain any spares.

What could be the problem ?

Old nipples often cause difficulty because they have been peened over, thus becoming slightly wider at the top, and the caps no longer sit firmly down on the end of the nipple as they should. If (as I suspect) the present nipples are peened over, then simply dressing the edge with a fine file can prolong their service life. Do not get into the habit of joyfully dry-firing the revolver without caps on the nipples, as some users do to test or demonstrate the action. The hammer will soon peen over new nipples if you do this.

+1 on what Patrick said. If you can get the nipples out put them in a drill press to use the fine file. You could use a drill also.
