Got to disagree chaps.......... If that scabbard (and the bayonet presumably) is chrome plated then I am a piccollo player. That's a scabbard that's been sanded down to within an inch of its life and left to go rusty - unless you're looking at a different one to me Boris!

I have to admit that I did several parades with bayonets, including one as the quarterguard for the Duke of Edinburgh (but that's another story for a rainy day,,,,,,,,,, see the Centurioin tank saga.....) and guess what............. I NEVER had a chromed bayonet, ever.......
