L39A1 and "7.62mm CONV" rifles appear to share the same numbering sequence; IIRC the highest number observed is around 1250.
I've got A1217, and I believe someone here has A1248.

Enfield made/converted rifles to L39A1 spec in 3 distinct year batches! theses were then sent to Donnington in smaller batches when requested!
1969 dated rifles, there were 300.
1970 dated rifles, there were 500.
1972 dated rifles, there were 211.
These totals do NOT include rifles marked, 7.62mm CON., 7.62MM CONV. or XL39E1, which are all part of the same serial number range!
The highest number rifle that has a Donnington shipping date on Enfields ledger is 1241, but more just might have been made as these records are not 100% complete!
