Well the new rifle came in the mail yesterday. Its a '44 Tula with a '41 SVT 40 PU. Rifle is in beautiful shape! Has a bright shiny bore, bolt is nice and smooth, and trigger pull is reasonably light and very smooth, but has the usual half mile of creep. It unfortunately has a post WWII stock on it, but the scope is war dated so in my eyes that makes up for it. The rest they had were post war scopes with either WWII stocks or post war as well.
Everything else is the same as everyone else's, floorplate is matched to the rifle and everything else matches, scope serial is electro penciled on bracket with the rifle serial etc.
Waiting on some PRVI brass, Lee dies and some 150gr Hornady flat based bullets and then off to the range.
Does anyone have a good recipe for these bullets over IMR 4895? What weight bullet were they meant to use?
Thanks!
