    Hi there

If anyone is intrested there is an Enforcer for sale on gunstar, serial 667 for £1400. From the couple of photos it looks pretty kosher and it has a Pecar scope included, however I can't make out the foward scope mount from the photo so you decide.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... I don't see a front mount or any indication that it had one. Looks like a 1980 production. The butt stock has had a huge piece added on. Might be worth someone asking additional questions and for additional pictures. Details are a bit light with only two pictures that I can see.

Looks like one of those b-square-type mounts which clearly isn't the correct one. The front mount, as Brian says isn't there and that's supposed to be screwed into the receiver. The scope isn't pictured, and it doesn't say if it's numbered to the rifle. I'd want to check the numbers on bolt/mag the 19ts etc the usual really. I also like how these people selling a rifle for £1,400 say 'the bipod isn't included.' Haven't seen any '80' rifles so can't really comment on the engraving.

Looks ok, the normal type of engraving, not quite straight!! Ex Devon and Cornwall rifle.

Alan de Enfield/ Simon - what do you think?

I'd try and check the engraving against pictures of other high number examples.

I've got number 665, engraving looks exactly like that, on a slight slant. Mine is also ex Devon and Cornwall. They insist that their Enforcers were destroyed, so either they were sold off on the sly, or someone bought up a bunch of destroyed Enforcers from them or someone else and put a whole bunch of them together. Mine came with a Pecar scope numbered to an early D&C rifle.

On the auction rifle, the Britishicon Bubba also did a numner on lengthening the buttstock.
