They not only tuck the elbows but they stand facing the target. Their justification is to avoid side wounds and take the bullets in the plates on the front. As if they are attracted by some magic force to that relatively small spot. They also don't do fire and movement the same, no going to ground because you're too heavy to get up. I better not get into the rest...I started in 74 and ended in 08...some things don't change for the better.
