Is it normal for the area below the recess to be crushed by a closed bolt as seen in picture 4?

Somebody may have tried to use a turned down bolt on it (i.e. a bolt turned down for a scope).

Nice rifle! I like the early Scant stocks make by SA. Is it possible for the rifle to be, not a "re-build", but an original build of spare parts? Maybe the stock was used as NOS?
The semi-circular relief under the bolt was done by an arsenal, but the dent below does look like another bolt was smashed in. Who knows?
