Remington did indeed make M91 (not 91/30s) rifles on a contract for the Russian government. New Westinghouse made some as well. However, due to the Russian revolution, many of the rifles never made it to Russiaicon, and were subsequently bought by the US Military to keep the firms from going under from all the lost money from the M91 contract. Some of them were converted to .30-06, but those go for A LOT more than $160. If the rifle was indeed an M91/30 as converted by the Russian government, then it is most definitely not chambered in .30-06
