Joined seeking knowledge on various guns in my collection

    Afternoon gents,

I happened to come across the forum while trying to figure out the few milsurps I have in my collection and let me say, you have quite the collection of information! I'm looking forward to learning more about what I have and what I might purchase in the future. Right now I'm focused on this 1903a3 that my grandfather has given me, hopefully I can get some answers through the experts on here!

    Thanks,
    Kyle

Hi all, my name is Paul and I am a self taught artist. I have a few replica pistols but gun laws are so strict in the UKicon I have to resort to painting pistols and rifles rather than shooting them. I am starting some paintings of historic battles, weapons and uniforms for an exhibition I plan to hold in 2014. Does anyone have any suggestions for pictures they may like to see?

you can see some of my work on my web site Home - paulportfolio

    New member from Louisiana

I'm new to vintage military rifles, but not to firearms in general. I recently purchased a M38 Swedishicon Mauser in 6.5X55(1942), and am using it in area vintage military rifle matches. I'm loading my own rounds, and placed third in a local match yesterday(ten rounds at 100 & 200 yards.)

    New member with a question

Howdy New member and threader. I always have questions that I need help with. And it seems like when ever any of my friends have a question that involve a gun they call me. Problem is the only person that ever understands guns the way I do is my little brother. Just wanted some more gun minded people to bounce ideas off, and to learn from. Look forward to talking with everyone.

Now for my first Question I have a Norinco sks with three Chinese symbols, rectangle 0142 production code, 6 digit serial code starting with 23, and "D" suffix in that order. I cant find Any info on The 0142 production plant. Any help is gonna be greatly appreciated.
