"...All "Ruby" pistols were shipped to Manufacture d'Armes de Bayonne (MAB) where they were to be inspected and then shipped to the various units. The pistols were supposed to be marked with a star or set of stars on either side of the magazine release catch which was mark of Frenchacceptance of foreign weapons but since these weapons were needed badly at the various fronts they did not always get this marking on them...."
