#5 Question!
I have a #5 that I bought in the early or mid 60s, the Metal is deep black and the Wood is beautiful and almost looks like Cherry, it is marked with No. 5. Mk.1 on the left side of the Receiver, with what looks like Electro Pencil to me but it is very neat, It is stamped on the top of the Receiver Ring with a Crown and BNP and on top of the Barrel above the Front Handguard with the same Crown, BNP, Cal .303, and 18.5 Tons a Square ", to the right of that a Symbol of a crossed Spear and a long Ax with a 6 between them and a 6 slightly higher and to the right.
My question is, where was this Rifle made?

Need close ups of left side of body and butt socket. If its marked M/47 on butt socket that's BSA. If its marked (F) it's Fazackerley.

One hint from the OP's description. Very neat electropencil says Fazackerly, not so neat (hand done) is BSA...

Well, maybe the OP will actually answer and we don't have to guess. That's why I stayed out, there was no information to go on.

Thanks Guys!
BSA it IS, M/47 is barely visible right above 1945 on the Butt Socket, I had to use a Jewelers Loupe to make it out, it is stamped so light, sorry about the Picture, but It's the best I could do.

Nice rifle.
Here is a suggestion, purchase Ian Skennertton's book The Lee Enfield. Endless hours of reading and informative to the point you may want to acquire more Lee Enfields.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

You should strip that shiny finish off and apply raw linseed. You'll be amazed how much better it'll look, feel and smell!
