The actions they were calling M86 were C3A1 actions, I acquired one and did a 1 to 1 comparison of a known C3A1.
I checked into it, they are all out. Sorry Rebel.

So have you done anything with the action, yet? I think we have a bolt or two, but no bottom metal. Need to hardness test one eventually, but haven't made the opportunity.

The hardness of the rifle bodies was one of the problems with the P-H offerings. Obviously this didn't (?) affect thge Aust/NZ
/Can sniper rifles. Well, to be honest, it was the overall quality of the steel that was the problem. That's according to the civillian Armourer who worked with us. Mind you, neither was the quality of the first tranche of L96 body/bolt material either! But that's another dire story than makes you look at 'proofing' in another way. The P-H L81 target rifle was accurate but just didn't seem to fit into the logistical or even useful chain of requirements - except as a source foir extra 7.62mm ball!
As a little aside, are the sniper mounts and telescopes readily(?) available?

Not really. A friend built a mount from scratch. I've got a real one somewhere, along with a scope. The Unertl/USOptics MST100, etc. is similar but the elevations are different on the Canadian
scope. US using 168/173 gr loads and the Canadians the 147gr.
