Beautiful stock! In our sometimes myopic intrest in originality, we forget what fine shooting/hunting rifles these can be. Elk hunting I agree is an excellent use for this fine rifle. Regards. Tom

What exactly did this one start as?
Beautiful stock! the rifle Started life as a 1905 Mk II 3*, most of which were sent to the US, and most of which met their fate at the hands of Bubba. This one was nicely done, and will probably shoot very nicely indeed.

That rifle started life as a 1905 Mk II 3*. Most of those went to the US, where they are the most commonly encountered Ross. Most were sporterized bu Bubba, as was yours. Your rifle seems to have been done very nicely, unlike a lot, and yours should not only look pretty with its lovely wood grain and elegant lines, but should also shoot very well,
