ssj, have been rereading your earlier threads, I have a particular liking for the No4 and have quite a number of Mk1/2`s, Mk1/3`s and Mk2`s, none NZ
marked by the way. Send me a PM.
Stuart.

The arrow isn't an ARMY mark as such, but a GOVERNMENT mark. As all (?) rifles made at the Government factories were made for Government contracts, they'll all have the arrow mark.
So even guns sold offshore to say South Africa in a contract batch will have the UK
broad arrow stamp?[COLOR="black"]

Yep....... Unlike No1 rifles made at the BSA plant, all No4's were made at Government Ordnance factories or certainly in the case of BSA, under Government contracts, under licence. BSA did go 'over the side' in 'error' (so said) with some No8 rifles but that's another story.
