RobD,
as i said i dont expect it to be a sniper rifle, but i´m a bit of ambitiously what the accuracy of my rifles belongs. It is coming out of the history of my service rifle shooting. To tell you why: most of the service rifle in use over here ( Germany ) are SwedishMausers, Schmidt-Rubins and K98k
´s followed by a few Springfields, M1917 and some Enfields. As i started to fire those rifles i found that the iron sights of the No.4 MKI* are the best that i could get ( not the flip sight ) So i bought me such a Enfield, a ugly looking old one for 80 Euros. All the shooters in my Club told me that a Enfield is a bad rifle and its accuracy is like shooting with bird shot. I thought that i need to prove that they are wrong. That was the reason i joined this Forum....to get some really great information from the best guys i have ever seen, sadly not in reality.... Equipped with all the information i started to work on my rifle and the ammo. And as the results that BigDuke posted have shown, it worked. Today no one is telling me such a sh... i won´t say the word, again.
All of my rifles are able to hold a max diameter of 2 inches at 100 yards. And i want to have the No.5 in this way too. Maybe it will work.
So the ignorance and the disdain of my comrades has been the starting point of my additction on the Lee-Enfield rifles. The only one i need now is a good No.1 MKIII. But they are rare and so is the P14 but with the patience i have .......![]()
