Forgive me but I obviously know but a fraction of what you guys know although I did read the other posts you refer to before posting.
I mean given that its just passed proof its surely not taking any greater risks shooting it than usually involved in shooting non DP marked old rifles?
Also many thanks for your reply but what do you mean by safe but not necessarily "suitable " to fire?

Sorry Peter but I posted my reply before reading your advice.Having read all the old posts re DP markings and these I think I get the message. Better to save a little more and get a nice one without such markings. Thanks for the(perhaps literally) face saving advice!
