Need some help finding a part...
Hi everyone,
OK, I've been to all the usual sources (DSA, Numrich, GunThings, Gunbroker, Arizona Response Systems, etc.) and completely struck out trying to find this. Does anyone know where I can find a Screw, Handguard (NSN 1005-99-960-2101)? This is the long one for the solid wood handguards. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!

If you put a WTB on here, I'll bet someone has one...

Hard to find here as well. The last time I needed one for a rifle at work I got a similarly sized/length metric hexagonal bolt and machined the hex head to the usual machine head and slotted it. Perfect. Sent it to workshops and had it phosphated and you can't tell the difference

I think that's right. For sure countersunk and the other part seems right. What thread though...?

M5 thread I THINK and it's what we call a countersunk machine head or what you'd call a convex head. Or what I'd call a slightly rounded head!

- originally I was going to find a screw of the right head and length of known threading and pick up a tap & die set to match. Now I've actually found an original screw so, as you said, anyone know the threading spec on these? I'm still going to need to get a tap & dies set to tap the bipod head (I'm building the unofficial Northern Ireland conversion to go with my AN/PVS-2 & IIWS topcover).

As far as I remember .......the bipod did not need to be threaded.. (taps are not always available at unit level)
the screw passes thro. one side of the bipod,
thro. one handguard,
thro. the gas block,
is then screwed into the other hand guard,
and the longer protruding end supports the other side of the bipod.
