Took the plunge and decided to drink the .300 Blackout Kool-Aid!
Well, with Kalifornia's draconian laws about to get worse, I decided to complete my Stag Arms lower prior to registration. I have an SP1/602 clone on a Nodak Spud slabside lower, but the Stag was languishing in the safe, with only a LPK and M4 stock.
I toyed with 6.8 SPC and .300 Blackout both. Due to being limited to pre-2000 30 rounders I already have in Kalifornia, it ruled out the 6.8. Besides having ample stock of legal 20 and 30 round AR mags to support two rifles, I have THOUSANDS of rounds of 223 and 5.56 brass.
I just bought a complete CMMG 300 Blackout upper with a WASP 1/7 twist barrel. It came with an M16 BCG and charging handle for $500 on Gunbroker. I have dies, 115 grain projectiles and a case trimmer ordered. I have plenty of primers and suitable powders (H110 and WW296. Within 30m days, I hope to have it together, rounds loaded, and it sighted in with the red dot (Tasco Accupoint shotgun scope) I already have.
ANy of you fellow 300 Blackout Koolaid drinkers, speak up and share experiences and loads. Thanks in advance!

You bet Bill! With the pending law changes, I took a second job to get some scratch together to replenish my recently depleted armory. I am hoping to pick up another M1 Carbine mix-master before the door closes 12-31!

I have a 300 Blackout barrel lying here on the work bench within arms reach. I haven't quite got everything together for the build...I'll let you know. I'm working on a 7.5" flattop upper right now. One thing at a time. It does show promise though.

Jim, too many projects buddy! I should probably take some of that stuff off your hands to free up some of your time. Nope, better not. I'm swamped myself
With seven ARs now I think one of the two stripped lowers may just need to go 300 Blackout. I researching now!
Oh yeah, besides the range report, a full photo essay on the subject too

It will push a 110 grain bullet (either M1 Carbine round nose or Spire point) 2400 FPS from a 16" barrel with WW296 or H110 carbine powder! It shines in the 110 to 125 grain range, and can be effectively suppressed with the 220 grain sub-sonic loads. There is even load data for 170 grain hard cast bullets. LEE makes a tumble lube mould specifically for the Blackout! Cast up some wheel weights and shoot cheap! amazing platform!

I'm thinking of the bigger bullets...probably 220 or just 200 because mine's also 1/7...I'm not crunched for powders though. I've had large stocks since that last thing we went through...maybe 4 years ago? I can do what I want. It'll be interesting all right. This will show us what the potential knock down of this platform really is. (.50 Beowulf excepted)

I saw pictures of an M249 SAW machine gun converted to .300 Blackout. Sort of an American version of the RPD 7.62x39 Soviet light machine gun. I will probably get the LEE mould to make cheap plinking rounds.

Leonidas
For those residing in NFA states. I can recommend the Liberty Leonidas without reservation.
Built on a Spikes upper and Noveske barrel. (I bought the upper only. I already had the lower.)
With subs, it sounds like a paint ball gun. (Integral Reflex Suppressor)
Suppressor tube comes off for cleaning.
