    Remington 1903A4

I have found a 1903A4 for sale. The gun has went thru a arsenal rebuild. Parkerized barrel, receiver, bolt, etc, The gun was built late October 1943 (34238xx). It has a RIA over EB cartouche on the left side of stock. It has the original M73B1 scope. My question is, the barrel date is 2/44, could this correct for this rifle? Thanks Steve

No. A February 44 barrel is a replacement.
Does your stock still contain the original factory inspection stamps in addition to the RockIsland rebuild mark?
How many Circled "P" proof marks are stamped on the grip or wrist?

BTW a rebuilt A4 is nothing to sneeze at. A very high percentage of A4's in existence today have been rebuilt. Some more than once.

    Regards,
    Jim

An M73B1 scope is nothing to sneeze at, either. But, it is more likely "an" original scope, not likely "the" original scope. With only a handful of exceptions, the 1903A4 's sold by the government were sold without a scope.

You might want to post photos. You might want to know if the rings & mount are correct for the rifle.
