Help with stripping a 1904 ShtLE Mk1 bolt of its cocking piece
Can anyone out there provide me with some instructions on how to remove the cocking piece from a ShtLE Mk1 bolt? I have a few of them lying around in my ever enlarging box of enfield goodies and am stumped as to how I would go about stripping the bolt. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If its a true Mk1 bolt you will need no tools, does it have the the knurled cap thing on the back of the cocking piece or is it a locking screw? photos will help.

Yes, its a true Mk1 bolt and it has the knurled cap thing at the back of the cocking piece. I can pull the knurled cap back and rotate it, but I'm unsure as to the next step and don't want to break something or damage a thread internally.

If it still has the early firing pin that has a lug instead of the two oposing holes for the firing pin tool, you just need a bolthead that has the notch cut out of the bottom, do the bolthead up, put the cocking piece into the fired position & slowly undo the bolthead, you should feel the lug & notch engage then unscrew the two together this will not completely undo before the bolthead unscrews completely, you will need to pull the cocking piece & firing pin back & redo up the bolthead & repeat, this should remove the firing pin from the cocking piece.
