surplus arms are going to be harder to get in the future because of the US government. now it is not impossible to get arms shipped to the states. it is just going to get a lot harder.
thanks, uncle sam.....
Its not over yet, as the Senate has to ratify the treaty. Probably wont be ratified.

Very strange coincidence this thread should pop up now as I have just done the deal on one of the four AWs used in trials by the Oz Army in the mid '90s.

Nope. And that rifle is a complete figment of someones not so fertile imagination. What you technical people would call 'a comple e load of bxxxxxxs'. If anyone knew about this 'trials' sniper rifle, surely it'd be the Trials and Development wing at Warminster. Maybe I missed that page.

That's exactly what I thought, but have never seen that type of bracket before, I wonder who made it?

Is that a numbered enforcer scope on it?
£3750 - that's quite, er, strong!

The long brackets were made as a bit of an interim, some say for the special forces, to evaluate other telescopes. The Leatherwood was one of them. S&B were another but..... anyway! But by then the L42 had had its day and in any case, at the time the replacement trials were well under way resulting in the adoption of the L96 in '84/85
If you want to know what the L96 S&B scope mount looks like, it's clearly shown on the thread, in the CES.

I found the thread I was looking for, and the pic of the bracket, will ask the owner if he would be so kind to post a better pic.
