singer sights
The other day I was a little bored and was looking at my No.4 Mk1 and thought that I had taken apart everything and cleaned everything on that rifle except the rear sight which is a Singer type. I want to tell you right now resist this temptation to remove the spring and detent ball from the assembly.
I know that there must be an easy way to reassemble this spring and ball, probably with special tools. Without special tools it took me several hours and nearly loosing the spring and ball about five times after it shot across the room. I pledge I will never do this again!

LoL!! Been there, done that. I learned to take things apart for the first time inside a gallon ziplock bag. My sons Rem 597 no longer has a bolt hold open because the tiny spring is somewhere in my shop...
