Absolutely love this Martini, would really like to know a little background about it!

The exact form and position of the markings is so important for identification (e.g. the unknown Arabic characters) that you really need to solve the picture problem first! For instance, how can one tell that it went to Egypt, and not some other country - Turkey? Syria? Palestine? Pre-partition Pakistan? The form of the characters may provide a clue - Arabic numerals were not the same everywhere!
