Sounds like the guy got clipped himself - at least he has offered the bidder's a way out. Actually the bolt would be just fine for someone who is putting together a clone for the VSM's - once the price is dropped to about $75.00.

Definitely a fake. Seller seems honest enough.

    Bolt Sold!

Even with the disclaimers, the bolt still sold for $285!

There's not even a photo that shows the angle of the bolt. Might be an inch and a half long notch in the stock for the bolt to close??

Poor fake. I am assuming both pics are of the same bolt - the different back ground color is throwing me off. The easiest way to spot fakes is by the shape of the handle.

    Regards,
    Jim

Original 03A4 bolts would not have an edge on top, they're curved. And if you look close on the second picture, it looks like there is a cutting line where as the first picture aswell shows different colours both on the bolt and the bolt handle. I assume it was cut off, reshaped and then welded to each other again. That would also explain why there are no markings below the bolt handle. Could be that it has been build even on a straight bolt handle, not a swept back one. Hard to tell by these pictures?

Thanks guys (even though it was bad news).
Well if one labled as a copy sold for $285 perhaps there is more than one person out there looking for a copy for a shooter/sniper build up.
If I do sell it it will be clearly noted as non original or correct.
