Hello from the wintery midwest USA

    Good morning all,

With winter here and snow outside I will again be inside working on my small collection of firearms of which the Lee Enfield's seem to intrigue me more than most. Maybe it is the uniqueness of them, the long history, the vast markings that tell a story of each, etc.

    Take care,

    Gyro

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. hello, i am new to your community, but not to guns. i am trying to research a colt 1911 that my grandfather gave me. he carried it in WW1 as well as WW2. he was a commander in the navy seabee's and was in the south pacific in WW2. it seems to be all original, with no armory rebuild markings. i have his 1911, 2 or 3 clips and the holster. i believe the pistol was made in 1918 and it is a colt. the finish is mostly worn, and it has bakelite grips.

    Newbie Reporting In

    Greetings All,

Would like to introduce myself to you, for my first post on the forum. I've been a long-time member (when Joustericon shut down years ago), but never posted before. Since Jouster stood back up, I spend most of my time there, but a friend who's also on here recommended that I check the board out. I'm impressed by the radio function already!

I've been an M1icon collector for about 10 years, but accumulator may be a better description. I do some NRA high power and CMPicon vintage military shooting, but have never been able to make it to Camp Perry.

Looking forward to another good place to lurk, and perhaps contribute a little. Thanks again to the Milsurps Forum for picking up the slack from Jouster when it was sorely needed!

    Steve

Just joined the board, and did a lot of reading before joining. Looks like a great place to hang around.

About me...Married for 27 years, Retired military Air Force in 93 after 20+ years and was in Desert Shield/Storm station in Bahrain.

Born and raised in KC MO and joined the military 2 weeks after graduating high school. Been into guns since about 10 years old. Then just recently retired from the IT world.

So right now, just livin' the dream.

    Have a M44, M48A, 91/30, a couple of MAK90's (.223 and 7.62) and a couple of SKS's.

Not a big poster, but do a lot of reading.

Thanks for letting me in your group, know I'll learn a lot.

Hey all. Former 2111 (USMC armorer) here and currently a med student. Born and raised in Sacramento, CA but moved to beautiful Missouri after I got out of the Marine Corps. Definitely not new to milsurps, just new to the forum.

    Hello All,

I'm Jim Oliver. All I am trying to do right now is find out if there is any market for an original set of battle orders from the 82nd Infantry Division, World War I.

It is dated October 1918. My wife's grandfather served as a 2nd Lt in the 321st Machine Gun Battalion.

I seem to be getting batted all over the web in my quest for a simple answer.

Can anyone give me an answer?
