The AA is the Augusta Arsenal re-build mark and the numbers could be the SN or rack number depending how many digits...the P in circle is the proof mark. It's simply a used stock that has gone through the mill.

I think by then they were using SA/JLG? Depends on the number...maybe just the DAS marking. I'm not sure about that...

Interesting thread as I have a Winchester Garand
with the Augusta Arsenal AA stamp with numbers below it on my stock also. Was just typing a new topic I am about to post about it with the same question. I would love to know what the numbers mean if anyone knows!

You say the rifle is a SA, July 1954, so the SA stock with DAS would be correct.

Were do they put the stampings on the Garand
stock. Like DAS .

Left side just below the rear sight. That's on the lower stock group of course...
