Look at the barrel date. At least you will know that the rifle could not have been assembled PRIOR to that date. Example - If the barrel date is 4 55 then the rifle could not have been assembled in, say Jan. of 1955 because the barrel had yet to be manufactured. My guess would be that your rifle was built in mid to late 1955.
