What is this gun?
Hi,
I recently got a the following gun given to me from a family friend, but it is my first firearm and I don't know much about them.
The markings are:
BNP-303 2-222"
18.5 Tons Per □"
England
(closer to action)
It looks as though there are two serial numbers/codes, one near the sight and one closer to the trigger.
There is a small crown on top of both BNP, but immediately under the 18.5 there is something that was X'd out, or the X is part of the design, but I can't make it out.
Any help/history is appreciated...

Hi LB billy,
I wonder if you would have a good 'ol Lee Enfield (Smle). Can you post pics? Is the butt seperate from the forearm and fixed to the firearm on a "butt socket"? If so, what's stamped on that butt socket?
