Weren't some of the Italian returned stocks stamped F (Letter before B) G?
Ft Dix,
What type project?
I can't get a good view of your pics.
Is it a GI stock?
Any markings in the slingwell?
Cheers,

Some USGI walnut stocks were refinished & stamped FAT, but they usually have old USGI markings. Replacement stocks will be European beech stamped FAT, with no USGI markings.

You also may find the marking and year under hand guard on the barrel directly in front of the chamber. John

Received Stock yesterday. M2 has selector cutout. SA stamp found on forearm.

FortDix6668, nice looking stock, it should make a good shooter. That SA stock was made with the M2 cut out and no bridge. It should be nice and beefy if it has not been sanded. With the FAT stamp I doubt that it has been sanded. Since you're going to use it for a shooter carbine, I would just drop the gun in as is. There is nothing wrong with the FAT stamp on it. Good luck and how about a range report when you get a chance. Best Regards.....Frank
