Thank you to everyone who responded. It appears that a 30 carbine DA revolver, although interesting may have a lot of issues to solve. As in right cylinder--sleeving the barrel and cylinder--makes a lot of noise and more.

Revolving DA Carbine?
How about converting a Taurus Circuit Judge? Sould be enough metal in the barrel and cylinder of a .44 to sleeve to .30, the cylinder should be plenty long enough and the muzzle blast & noise should be significantly less than from a pistol length barrel. Cost and purpose? Who's to say? But that's kinda beside the point,isn't it? I think it might be pretty neat. ChipS

I can think of much better ways to waste money and time. Even the US military said it wasn't worth the effort or the cost.
