REL Telescope, Observing, Sniper's C MK 1
Looking for some guidance on the value of a REL Telescope, Observing, Sniper's C MK 1.
I have seen examples of expensive to insane prices on these.
Looking for the approximate value of a complete original kit with Scope (good optics), Case and Stand.
Thank you in Advance.

I would suggest from a low of about $900 to a high of around $3500. One may have sold for more than that....seems to me it was discussed on this forum a few years back. To be honest I have seen as many of them at that high point as at the low. A few examples sold on ebay at around $1500 or so.
Edited to add: Found the one I was thinking about. It went for around £3600, but was mint and matching. That would be the exception and not the rule however.

Thanks. I think you understand my predicament.
As the item is in my collection it must be worth at the high end of the scale

I would venture a guess in today's market at an auction, most like $2,500 to $3,500 for a complete set ...

For future reference in case anyone wants to compare something they find against all correct examples, check the article written by stencollector titled 1944 Canadian Telescope, Observing, Sniper's Cmk1 in the Canada - Knowledge Library.
It also contains a 30+ picture photo montage of two different examples including the stand.

Codfan, the answers you've got here and the sheer difference between the estimated high and low prices just substantiate my strongly held view that the only price you need to concern yourself with, with an unknown like that, is the auction price. It ain't a predicament.......... And if you've got a world wide audience, even better!
