Hi Andy just found this forum, really like the pictures of your restoration. I think you've posted on the "G503" also? I'd like to do an M2 if I ever get done with my M3. I had mine running and drove it around the block but had to pull the water pump due to a small leak. But will be working on my floor tomorrow. Kind of took a hiatus on mine for a bit. That whole work and life thing gets in the way!

Finally set the rear brakes. I took my time and checked it a million times before i was happy. Once the drive sproket is on there is no way to check them. Last thing i wanted was the brakes to give me a problem once the tracks were on.

And a new toy to add

Found all the parts needed to mount the 1919, and got enough to mount another one if i can find one

Been awhile. I still have been working away. It seems to take forever, detailing parts and painting. I started the wiring and have the 3 main harness's installed. I also got 2 new pintle/ cradle assembly's to mount the 1919, and a spare one in case i find another deact 1919. Still waiting on the pintle sockets to be made so i can mount the cradle/1919 out back

Does anyone know anyone done or doing a similar project with the DUKW? There were about 6 or 7 in the cast vehicle park at 40 Base Workshop in 1969, all in grey paint with XX YP XX British
Army numbers that had come from 37 Company RCT, the Water Bourne Company based at Blakang Mati - or was it Palau Brani - off the Singapore main coast. The drove/swam across to the main Island and to the workshops but couldn't go back as they weren't waterproof. I expect that they were just left as scrap when the Poms left!

There is a company here in the states that has a fleet of DUKW's. Here in Philadelphia they give tourist a tour of Old City and then out on the Delaware river for a bit. They're painted white and have soft tops and a stupid duck logo on them. Probably .05% of the people who ride/see them know what they are.
Also, a few years ago one broke down on the river and a trash barge ran it over sinking it and killing 2 kids from Europe. The pilot of the barge was texting.

A few years back (2002) here in Ottawa, an il-maintained one being used for a tour boat sank in the canal when it was full of tourists. 4 people drowned and that was the end of that business venture.
