Winchester Grousing (longish)

I never cared for Winchester anything. And I am such an idiot, because the Winchesters I turned down have doubled and tripled in prices.

Winchester rifles and carbines look like they were chewed out of bar stock by angry beavers. I always preferred the fine metal finishes of late model Springfields.

God, how can I be so stupid? Everyone wants the Winchesters.

I agree. I had a Winchester SG from early CMP days. It was an 'education contract' receiver. The rest was mixed SA and it sat in Birch. A friend had to have it and he offered to double my money on it. He was happy and to me it was just a slightly less finished mixmaster M1. I can't see the hoopla over them.
