The scope base on your rifle is correct. Now your decission is to decide which way you want to go: WWII or Korea.
WWII would presently be the cheaper route to go. The rings are 3/4" with a Weaver 330 scope. The scopes can range from $200-800 depending on its markings (and I've seen about 12 different manufacturer's stampings). The rings can range from $75-125.
Korea era 04s were rebuilt with 7/8" 2-pc rings used with the M-84 scopes. During these rebuilds, some of the receiver markings of "03" were crossed out and "04" crappily hand-stamped next to the 03.
I have a number of these items if you want to bring your rifle up to originality. I also have posted on this forum leather lens covers made for many of the old US sniper scopes.
