It is a type 1 pouch which was made by many different makers from 1942 to 1944. Boyt made some U.S.M.C. marked in 1945. If the color is correct in the picture it appears to be khaki. Khaki went to OD in mid to late 1943. Those two items make it more desirable. Worth maybe $5 or so more then an OD to the right buyer. I don't know if there is such a thing as a rare maker. Then came the type 2's. Again many makers. When I started they were about $2 mint. Then they went to about $5. Now somewhere over $30-35 for mint pouches. You can go nuts collecting the different makers, my wife will verify that.
And though guys have been using them since WW2, they were designed for a belt not the stock.
