H&R Sportsman 999 Sight Problem

Mine is the single action only and was made a long time ago (maybe 1930's ?) anyway the top of the front sight to the bottom of the barrel is one inch. It is right on target at the local pistol range with standard velocity cartridges. I use to shoot a lot of 22 longs but they are very difficult to find now. Try some sub sonic or target cartridges, I have really neverAttachment 53995 had to adjust the front sight with the screw.
