Hi All, Do to unexpected circumstances, Brian has sold the Rock-Ola to me. It just arrived today and I'm happy to add it to my collection. A couple of anomalies just to bring all up to date and hoping you can shed some light on them. The recoil plate appears in the photo to have a R marking. In fact it actually is an 8 on one side and a punch mark on the other side of the tang. Wear contact points and patina show that it has been in the carbine for a very long time. I find nothing in any of the CC newsletters to help. The other one is the marking or lack of marking on the gas cylinder. The barrel all being properly marked and double proofed and flaming bomb under the gas piston with an R and a 1 on the barrel flat, but not marked Rock-Ola. The CC news letters do mention some unmarked gas cylinders. One other item which is not a problem and is mentioned in the CC newsletters, but an interesting point is the extractor. It is the modified SI marked with the I stamped over with an R so it appears to be SR. Lastly you know that the hammer had been replaced somewhere in it's life and I would like to bring it back to a dogleg. If anyone might have a source for an original type 1 or 2 dogleg KR hammer I would be grateful for any info. Thanks, JohnInformation
