USN Mk1 Training Bayonet Repair
Just aquired a USN Mk1 Bayonet with scabbard to go with my little clutch of '03's but unfortunately the muzzle ring is half broken off but its otherwise in really nice condition. Just going to put the question out. Any one got a busted one with a good crossguard? I'd be keen to get a hold of it.

You can find them but the easy way might be to buy a cut down Korean castoff with the tiny blade...then pilfer the crosspiece and chuck the rest. Sell the working parts... You can find these on most sites that have bayonets.

Thanks Jim
Was considering that but but the USN Mk1 actually has a bakelite crossguard, thats why the muzzle ring broke, perhaps its a weak link that breaks before the blade breaks, the rivets look easy to knock out. Maybe I could make a mould and cast the missing piece onto it.

I was unaware...I've never held one. You might actually have to make one. Good luck on that part.

Typical, since I bought the bayonet on a whim for the price of the scabbard, and the bayonet is repairable. I just had to get a reasonably priced Paris-Dunn to put it on.........
