    Need help identifying vz24!

Hi, I have a nice old vz24 with all parts having matching numbers. and I'm trying to figure out when and for whom it was made. Iv tried researching myself but it seems my markings are different to the commonly reported ones. Across the top of the receiver I have the words " CS. ZAVODY NA VIROBU ZBRANI BRNO" . On the side of the receiver there is "E *lion* 24" and under that is "T903"

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I don't think it is a VZ24, they normally don't have the markings you describe. In my opinion it is a VZ23 made for the Czechoslovakian army. The VZ23 was based on the 1898/22 rifle. Can you post some pictures please?

Really!? I was told it was a VZ24 when i bought it. Here are some pictures. Would this rifle have still been used by the germans in WW2?

Pictures don't show enough details to really be certain but what little I can see suggests a VZ 23 barreled action in a VZ 24 stock.

i doubt that, ALL numbers on every component of the rifle match *T903* even the butt plate.

i can post more pics if it would help? What details specifically would you like to see?

also, the stock is marked T903 to match the action and all other components, so it cant be a mismatched stock and action

The stock on your rifle isn't a VZ23 stock, it is definitely is a VZ24 stock. Is the serial number on the marking disk in the stock the same as the serial number on the receiver?

It could be a late VZ23 that was restocked as a VZ24, making it an early VZ24. If the numbers don't match it still could be a VZ23. If you remove the front sight protection, is there a slot for a sight hood (K98kicon style) in the sight base?

When all numbers match and it doesn't have the slot for a sight hood it is an early VZ24 rifle in my opinion.

Thanks the extra pictures help. I'm pretty sure it is an early VZ24. Great find, that's a keeper! Your rifle is probably made in 1924, when they redesigned the VZ23 and started making VZ24's.

And yes it is possible the Germans used the rifle during WW2, they used the VZ24 as "Beuttewaffen".
