Tarawa had a seawall on red beach where the main landing took place. There is also an LCT(5)in the picture. I don't believe LCTs were used at Tarawa. LCT 346 was built by Decatur Iron and Steel and commissioned in October 1942.

If memory serves me correctly, the 6th Marines landed on Green Beach (the extreme western end of Betio Island) on November 24th (D+1). I don't believe there was a log seawall on Green Beach like there was on Red Beach, so perhaps the picture was taken on Green Beach.
