Geez it's a nice one mate and you'd be hard pressed to find a better one.
I take it from the lack of comments that not many here are interested in the SMLE.

Very nice 5thBatt, and at an attractive price. While people (myself included) obsess about No. 4 T's you can still find the odd good deal. Last year at a small show I spotted a '17 Enfield MkIII* priced at $275.00! Didn't make any sense- all matching (inc. rear sight, nosecap, forend), good bore. Needless to say I snapped it up and it has proven to be a great shooter. How is the bore and the draws area on your rifle?

Ridolpho, the barrel is worn but in good condition & bright, unfortunately the draws are in serious need of attention & beyond my skills but there has been a interesting development that will see the rifle restored by someone who does have the skills, will fill you all in later.

Ok, the 1917 has gone to a new home (that's got to be the shortest time amount of time I've owned a SMLE) but it will be repaired.
Now i have a 1918 EFD MkIII* NZ
marked that i swapped for it, not too unhappy, would have preferred to have the 1917 but at least its not going sit in a safe never to be fired.
The 1918 gets me one step closer to having all the manufactures for that year, now i just need a 1918 Ishapore which might take some time.
Will post pics of the 1918/s when time permits.

Too bad you couldn't have both
still nice, and good luck with the ishapore. The last 2 out of 4 Smle's I've bought have had shagged draws. I feel like I've hit the lottery when I field strip a recent acquisition and its ready to go.
Cheers
