Help with LEC1 buttstock marking

Thanks, Warren, Amatikulu. I'd forgotten (i.e. never found out) that the 4th Hussars were a Canadian unit.
Warren, I have a lot of Q's: Do you know the sequence of events, namely when these carbines were used by the 4H and the Mounties, and when they were sold off?
Mine has no sold-out-of-service stamps, is that generally the case?
What's the explanation for your observation that the bolts are mis-matched?
Are "orphan" carbines (i.e. not in your serial number list) carbines which went missing during service? From what era does the serial number list come?
If my woodwork is Canadian, is there any marking on the metal parts of the carbine which I should look for to be certain that this serial no. and this woodwork all go together?
The 4H supplied replacements to other mounted units during the Anglo Boer War. The ABW is an area of great interest to me - do you think this carbine likely to have served in the ABW?
In short, please wax lyrical about these carbines, I am all ears!
