Winchester S/N Range for I Cut and Oval Cut Highwood Stocks?
Hello All: What is the consensus for the s/n # of beginning use of oval cut highwood stocks for Winchester carbines? Ruth War Baby mentions the usage but is not giving a s/n range, if I read it correctly. Same question for WRA GHD in a box, vs. not in a box? Reisch, Harrison, Larson (good or bad) books don't converge on the matter. Do carbine club newsletters? I should join the carbine club, get the newsletters, etc., but have not for now. Thanks!

To start with dump Harrison and the Larson books. Too much bad information in them both. The WRA/GHD ended with the change to the type 3 stock. It was dropped and just the crossed cannon stamp was used and that was the around March 1944. The box was dropped with the start of the type 2 stock about late spring early summer 1943 roughly around the 1110000 mark and only the WRA/GHD unboxed was used.
