NRA Sporter?
I have a 03 Springfield (sporterized) and was wondering if it is an NRA Sporter. I can't give pics at this time as it is at my brother-in-law's.
What I can tell you is that it has a NM barrel, Monte Carlo stock with deluxe checkering, Lyman sights, Griffin Howe scope mount (bottom half mount only, looking for top half with 7/8" Lyman Alaskan scope), jeweled bolt and sling.
I understand some can identify just from the serial number.

No match, although it is in a good bunch of NM rifles.

Rick,
As NMs were made intermittently, were you able to determine if it started out as a NM?

Most records identify National Match rifles that were sold. The two exceptions that aren't listed are those sold to members of the military and those that were reconverted into service rifles. Can you post some pictures of your rifle?

I'll have to hold off on the pics for a few weeks as the gun is at a relative's home as stated above. But yes, I'll put some pics up because it was beautifully modified and I think you'll enjoy it. I have found the upper base G&H mount and am now looking for an Alaskan scope for it.
Thanks again Rick.
