Post shooting bore cleaning while in range
I was reading a thread in the Lee Enfield area (https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=50593) about 303 ammo which had some posts on after-shooting-corrosive-ammo bore cleaning. What do you do if you are in a range that might be a bit of a ways away from home? I ask because it seems the best way to clean up the barrel is hot water; don't think many ranges would let you loose on their bathroom with a rifle. And, in my case, they do frown upon you fondling the rifle away from firing line.
So, what could you do as an initial cleaning before you get home? I was thinking a bore snake since it would take seconds to run it and then thrown rifle in its case. A friend uses that as his only method to clean rifle barrels; I do not know if I would trust it that much.

It doesn't have to be 'hot' water. If you live far away just use bottled water to pore down the chamber and the bore snake at the range.

There isn't any cleaning that can't wait until you get home. It's an overblown issue, you do need to clean that day but not at the range.
To answer your question, at the range you could wet a patch or two with bottled water, windex, Ballistol which is awesome!!!, or whatever you use for cleaning. my 2cs....

Thompson Centers black powder solvent and a bore snake will work just fine.

remember how you got to the range. you auto has widow washer fluid. works great in a pinch. just wet a few patches an run down bore. finish cleaning at home.
also works real good for smoke poles too.

used it a few times while out hunting with muzzleloaders in bad weather an when you got to pull powder an ball or go home to do it.you learn short cuts. was tought the windshield trick while at a renactment by old buck skinner gleaning his rifle after shooting blank loads. took all the gunk out right quick.

I carry a small bottle in my haversack with washer fluid, soap and water, when I'm shooting NSSA competition.
